Report Illegal or Harmful Content

Last updated: August 2026

Facet Cloud hosts sites and content created by independent creators. If you believe something we host is illegal, or breaks our Acceptable Use Policy, you can report it using the mechanism below. This page is our notice-and-action point of contact under the EU Digital Services Act and the UK Online Safety Act.

1. How to report

There are two ways to submit a notice about content on a Facet-hosted site. Either works, and neither requires an account:

  • On the site itself: use the report control shown alongside the content (for example, on a comment or a community post). It opens a short form that goes straight into our review queue.
  • By email: write to abuse@get-facet.com. For copyright complaints, use our Copyright and DMCA process instead.

To let us act quickly, a report should be specific enough for us to find and assess the content. Please include:

  • the exact web address (URL) where the content appears;
  • an explanation of why you believe it is illegal or breaks our Acceptable Use Policy, and, for an illegality claim, the law you believe it breaks;
  • your contact details, if you would like us to tell you the outcome (optional).

You may report anonymously. When you submit through the on-site form, we confirm receipt right away with a case reference you can quote in any follow-up.

2. What happens next

A human reviews every report. We do not use automated tools to decide whether content stays up or comes down. If we remove or restrict content:

  • we tell the person who posted it what we did and why (the facts we relied on, whether the decision was based on illegality or on our Acceptable Use Policy, and how to ask us to reconsider);
  • if you gave us your contact details, we tell you the outcome, without disclosing private information about the person who posted the content.

Neither law sets a fixed deadline for acting on a report; both require us to act promptly once we are aware. Our own targets are same-day review for child sexual abuse material and threats to life, and review within two business days for other illegal-content and harassment reports.

3. Child sexual abuse material and imminent threats to life

Content of this kind is strictly prohibited and is treated as our highest priority. A report in this category triggers an immediate alert for urgent human review. Where the law requires it, we remove the content, preserve relevant evidence, and refer the matter to the appropriate law enforcement authority. If you are reporting an emergency involving a risk to someone's life, please also contact your local emergency services.

4. Points of contact

These are our published electronic points of contact. We accept communications in English.

5. Legal framework

For content our own systems store and make available at a user's request (such as comments and community posts), Facet Cloud acts as a hosting service under the EU Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065) and as a user-to-user service under the UK Online Safety Act 2023. The mechanism on this page implements our notice-and-action and statement-of-reasons duties (DSA Articles 16 and 17) and our illegal-content reporting and complaints duties (OSA sections 20 to 21). Our content rules are set out in the Terms of Service and the Acceptable Use Policy.
